Writing software got cheap enough that building something to throw it away is now the sane move. What did not get cheaper is knowing what would make you throw it away, and that has to be written down first.

MCP 2026-07-28 deleted the initialize handshake and protocol-level sessions. My proxy sits on both sides of that wire and every backend it talks to is still on the old revision, so picking one was never an option.
